Rooney’s Baptism + Bible Giveaway!

Baby Baptism Parents and Sponsors

Rooney was baptized a couple weekends ago! She did great and it was a very special occasion for us. She wore the sweater dress that I wore when I was baptized 28 years ago. It was also worn by my sister in 1980 and five of our female cousins since, but hadn’t been worn in almost 20 years! And the slip was worn by my nana at her baptism! So it was very special. My sister, Kari, and our dear friends Brenna and Justin were Rooney’s sponsors. We pray that she will grow to know and love the Lord.

To celebrate, today we’re giving away two Bibles (NIV) from Zondervan. Zondervan is a Christian book publisher and we are thrilled to partner with them!

Zondervan Bible Giveaway

Aren’t they pretty? If you already have a Bible, these make great gifts for baptism, confirmation, birthdays, anniversaries or weddings. Or, maybe for the homeless lady you pass every morning.

Winners get to pick from the Red Poppies or White Lily Bible designs shown above. There are lots of ways to enter below!

  2. What pretty covers! My favorite verse is Hosea 6:3, “So let us know, let us press on to know the Lord. His going forth is as certain as the dawn; and He will come to us like the rain, like the spring rain watering the earth.”

  3. The bibles are adorable! My favorite bible verse is 1 Corinthians 13:4 love is patient, love is kind…

  4. Beautiful Bibles and a beautiful girl! :) Blessings to your family!

  5. Isaiah 40: 28-31
    Do you not know?
    Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
    and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
    They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

  6. My favourite Bible verse is Philippians 3:12 “Not that I have already attained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own because Christ Jesus has made me his own”.

  7. Love those bibles! It would be a perfect gift for my sister in laws baby who we just found out is a GIRL!

  8. Philippians 4:6
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”

  9. a couple of favorites:

for in him we live and move and have our being.
    acts 17:28

he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
    colossians 1:17

    comforting words when i’m overwhelmed.

  10. I just got my 7 month old baptized last Sunday also, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I win, because the whole family freaked out when me and my husband told them we don’t own a bible (somehow ours disappeared when we moved).

    Those bibles are gorgeous!!

My favorite verse right now is Matthew 6:33
“Seek ye first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.”

  12. What beautiful bibles. Thanks for the giveaway.

  13. love this giveaway… they are so cute! one of my favorite verses was one of my grandma doris’ favorite verses:

    Isaiah 41:10 –
fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

  14. What a beautiful giveaway!

  15. best giveaway ever? i think yes.

one of my favorite verses is job 23:10.

  16. This is hard question because it depends greatly on the year but this year my favorite verse is Isaiah 26:3

  17. Jeremiah 29:11–for I know the plans I have for you says the lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you.

    • Such a good one! We studied it last week at life group and I was surprised to learn the context. This promise came after 70 YEARS of hardship!

  18. love the poppies… how beautiful!

  19. Recently discovered your blog- it’s amazing! My favorite verse though would definitely have to be Zephaniah 3:17!

  20. I like 1 Timothy 3:16 for the way it sums up the whole gospel.

  21. Lately, it’s Psalm 127:1-2:

1 Unless the Lord builds the house,
those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the watchman stays awake in vain.
2 It is in vain that you rise up early
    and go late to rest,
    eating the bread of anxious toil;
for he gives to his beloved sleep.

But I guess that’s mostly because work (ministry) has been so hectic, that I always feel like something’s undone. This verse helps me to remember that it’s all God’s workings anyway. All He requires of me is that I submit that work to Him and His plans.

  23. Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

  24. Well, it says I left a comment, but just to be safe:) These Bibles are adorbs (yep, abbreviated that), and so is your family. Miss you all! My favorite Bible verses are many, but Jeramiah 29:11 sticks out: For I know the plans I have for you.
