A Few of My Favorite Things

Happy Friday! Here are a few things I’ve been loving lately.

  • FOR THE HOME. These pillows are a must if you sleep on your back or side. Eric and I each have one. (I used to sleep on my stomach, but haven’t been able to go back since my pregnancy.)
  • FOR THE OFFICE. I’m not sure how pens disappear so quickly, but we recently got a box of these, so we should be set for a while! (They write like a dream!)
  • FOR PRODUCTIVITY. If you still email documents to yourself: STOP. We use Dropbox for file sharing between our computers almost daily, and on our iPhones. It’s an easy way to share photos of Rooney with our family, too. Pure genius.
  • FOR PHOTO EDITING. If you loved Picnik, PicMonkey is even better! I choose it over Photoshop, most of the time! It’s how I put words on the image for this post.
  • FOR YOUR iPHONE. The VSCO cam app is my new favorite way to add filters and edits to photos on my phone. I hardly ever buy apps–this one is 99 cents and worth it.

What are your favorite things lately?

I love my husband, my daughter and the Internet.

  1. i’ve been wondering for some time now the “secrets” to your photos…thanks for sharing!

  2. Thank you so much for the picmonkey link! I loved Picnik, and I don’t own Photoshop, so I’ve been needing a new option. :) And thanks for visiting my blog!

  3. Thanks for sharing about PicMonkey! I think i’m gonna love it! Between this and Picassa, I really don’t need my photoshop program I bought last fall!

  4. Hi Kelsey,

In your last post you guys mentioned wanting to invest in chiropractic care and I think that’s fantastic. I started seeing a chiropractor about six months ago and it has become such an important part of my health. As someone who used to have regular tension headaches, I’m happy to say they have almost disappear in the last six months!

Anywho, I so GLAD you’re not sleeping on your stomach anymore. It’s terrible for your spinal alignment! Sleeping on your back really is the best for your spine but I haven’t been able to relinquish sleeping on my side…

I love reading your blog regularly and really appreciate all the useful, real life tips you provide. And, of course, I love seeing your darling pictures of baby Rooney.

    Thanks for blogging!
    Sam

    • I think you should have a caption contest fore your photos of the week. This one makes me think. “How long do I have to entertain this man?”

    • Thanks, Sam! I have a love-hate relationship with sleeping on my side. Do you use a pillow between your knees? I just can’t quite get used to it. I miss my stomach-sleeping every now and then but when I try it, it kills my neck!

      • Hi Kelsey,

I don’t sleep with a pillow between my knees, probably because I’ve been a side sleeper for so long. I do use a memory foam pillow, something I’ve started recently, that I really like. And it wasn’t too expensive, either!

Also, I wanted to let you know that I took your advice and started using dropbox and it’s possibly my favorite thing ever. It’s made blogging oh so much easier!

  5. i look forward to checking out picmonkey. thanks for sharing.

im asking for a little beby registry advice over at my blog today. i would love either/both of your input if you have a chance.

  6. I know this post is from a while back, but I kept it in the back of my mind because of PicMonkey. Thank you for the suggestion – I now need a quick and easy photo editor for a daily work project and this is perfect! You are a lifesaver :)
