iPhone Fun: Emoji

Joa and Andy stopped by our house a couple weeks ago, and I had to ask her how she texts me cute little icons.

Now, Eric and I won’t text each other without including a special little treat! It’s so fun.

Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > International Keyboards > Add New Keyboard… > Emoji.
When using the keyboard, you can now hit the globe button in the bottom row and choose from tons of emoticons.

NOTE: We have iPhone 4s models and iOS5; I am not sure if this works on all iPhones or operating systems or not…

If you think it’s fun now, it’s even more fun when your kid is old enough to recognize the images and has the hand-eye coordination to press the buttons. My 2-year-old loves to send my husband and sister text messages entirely comprised of animals and little icons that he picks out. It’s so cute!

I have the iPhone 4 and it worked for me, but I did do the upgrade offered by Apple when the iphone 4s came out. I like the little faces, Lars always uses them on his droid, now I can reciprocate!

I’ve been obsessed with this for a month or so now so I can relate to how fun text messaging has become! LOVE IT!
