You surprise me daily with your level of activity. Seven weeks ago I read that your movement would probably be slowing down because you’re running out of room in there, but it definitely hasn’t. I wonder if you’re a high-energy child or if you just like to stretch. You love to kick and roll over — sometimes my whole midsection shakes as a result! I love the peace of mind, though, that it gives me, knowing you’re healthy and happy in there.
Could we really meet face to face in two months? I guess you could even come earlier. Wow. I can’t wait to see what you look like. Your aunt Kari and my good friend Keisha are throwing us a baby shower in a couple weeks. I’m pretty excited to complete your nursery and get everything ready for your arrival.
P.S. Did you like those candy hearts? Those are my favorite. More to come.
Dear little Jalapeño popper,
You like to kick your mamma all day long. Sometimes I get jealous that she always gets to feel you move. I love touching your mom’s belly and feeling you move. She is doing an amazing job caring for you while you are growing big and strong to meet this world. She is so proud of her belly and loves to show it off to the world. It makes me smile.
My love for you grows daily. I love to read to you, and can’t wait to teach you how to do things. I am reading a book about how to raise a daughter right now. I can’t get enough. I want to be the best daddy in the world for you. I’m going to protect you and that will probably mean telling you no from time to time. You won’t understand at the time, but someday you will know that I loved you so much that I didn’t let you do certain things because of this.
You got way more presents than I thought you would for Christmas this year. You are not even here yet and already loved by many. I started a family tradition and read the Christmas story from Luke 2 to you and mommy. I can’t wait to start many more family traditions.
