New Office Furniture

We don’t technically have an office in our house. We have an old desk inherited from my childhood in our spare bedroom that holds our iMac that we never use. Truth be told, most of our blog posts are written from the comfort of our couch.

While I would love to have a decked out office optimized for blogging awesomeness, it’s just not in the budget right now. But, sometimes you come across something that you just can’t pass up.

A couple weekends ago we decided to take a van full of miscellaneous items to Goodwill, and while we were there we thought we would look around. We are looking for some cool glass jars to make a terrarium. We had no luck with the glass, but I did spot this beauty in the furniture section.

Don’t you agree Rooney could do so many activities at this desk in the years to come?

For now this gem sits in our living room. It’s a perfect little desk for our living room, if there is such a thing. Rooney has already taken a liking to it.

Someday, when we finish our basement, we have visions of our own little office. Currently we’re liking the looks of something like this that Jen (from Jen Loves Kev) made.

I’m not sure how long this will stay in our living room, but for now, I’m really diggin’ it.

What’s your favorite thrift store find?

  1. Awesome find! My favorite thrift store find was finding a Banana Republic skirt, new with tags, for $4! How can you beat that?

My favorite furniture find was at a garage sale; we were looking for a piece of furniture to hold all the items I store here for the babysitting kids. It had to be big enough to hold diapers, wipes, food, and extra clothes for 6 kids, but still be nice enough to be in our living room. We found an awesome credenza at a garage sale, but we didn’t have the $30 on hand for it in cash at the time, so the lady asked how much we had. We said $12, and she said that was fine! I won’t be babysitting this much next year, so it’ll be turned into a TV stand to house all the Wii items, remotes and accessories when we finally get a flat screen TV.

  2. Great find! You’ll get a lot of use out of that, I predict! Love the photo of Rooney ‘raising her hand’ at her desk. :) Such a doll!

  3. That’s so awesome! I wouldn’t have been able to pass that up, either.

    • I have an all purpose card table with folding chairs! It’s all I need and fits my small space perfectly. :-) . Hey, Rooney, Do you know how adorable you look?

  4. Watching the Oklahoma State basketball game! Go Cowboys!
