Nursery Reveal

With less than two weeks till our due date (really, she could come any time!), we’re happy to say that her room is ready! And I think it’s officially our favorite room in the house.

Here It Is!

Some Notes

  • We placed the crib furthest from the window and where our hall light won’t hit it when we open the door (in case she’s asleep). The mobile works for now, but will need to be removed when she can get up on her knees. At that point, the lights will be moved above the rocking chair or maybe even our kitchen table.
  • I’d say the dresser is the focal point of the room, based on placement and the fact that my eye is drawn to it first when I walk in. I am completely in love with the mismatched knobs. We bought them while on vacation. My sister said it best: “It says ‘anything goes,’ but it’s still very cute and clean.”
  • The “Let her sleep…” canvas was a project we completed during our Christmas vacation. Eric painted it dark gray and then added a coat of light gray on top, and I cut the letters from two maps we had using stencils, and then we mod podged them on.
  • Yes…her name starts with R!

What do you think?

P.S. How we planned the nursery.

  9. Very sweet room. It’s so feminine without screaming “PINK!”. Well done.

Is that one of your blankies in her crib?

  10. It’s Reagan, isn’t it!? AMAZING room. You are so immensely blessed!

    • Hi Amy,

Did you sign up for a gravatar at http://en.gravatar.com/ ?

If you have signed up, I think all you have to do is then use your email
address when you comment and it should pull in your gravatar. I think you
can add a new email address as well if you have more than one and the one
you use for commenting isn’t what you signed up with.

If it’s working, your gravatar should show up after you imput your
information and before you submit the comment.

Let me know if you have more issues.

  12. So creative! As soon as I saw the knobs on the dresser I thought, “I wonder if those are from Anthropologie?” Mainly because I’ve been eyeing them for a while (for those that want any check here; http://www.anthropologie.com , there are some on clearance.) Super fun, can’t wait to see the baby soon!

  13. Simply adorable is right….so cute! You guys did a wonderful job!

  14. I love the nursery! It is just so simple and sweet, with lots of loving touches. You guys did a great job on the collaborated canvas! Maybe I missed the link, but where is the growth chart from? I haven’t seen one like it before, so classic and fun without being too babylike for when she is older.

  15. What a wonderful nursery! Well done! I guess her name is Rebecca or Rebekka! ;-)

  16. LOVE the nursery – it’s so perfect! The canvases and dresser are my favorites – love the mismatched knobs!

  17. I’m sure you’ve heard this one hundred times already, but I love the canvas art project! Seriously, great work you guys. Can we commission you to create a piece for our new house??

My original guess for the name was Reagan, but I would like to supplement that guess with Reese, Ruth, and Ruby :-D

    • My part of the canvas was easy. You will have to get the approval of Kels’ steady hand for cutting out the map. And your 3 guesses are nice, but we’re not having triplets like you did. ;)

  18. What a beautiful room for a little girl! It’s just perfect. I adore the mismatched dresser knobs, and I also love the gigantic ruler! Adorable!

  19. looks great! we also are owners of the Hemnes dresser and Expedit shelves from IKEA :) great buys!

  20. What a perfect quote for a nursery! You all will be in my prayers for the next few weeks! :)

  21. omg you guys, I love it!! Soo cute, all of it! Really good job!

  22. It is just perfect! It looks so fun and peaceful at that same time–a perfect place to hang out day or middle of the night!

  23. I love that canvas! I may have to steal it when I have a girlie of my own:)

  24. Your nursery is awesome. :) How did you come up with the phrase for the canvas?

  25. The whole nursery is gorgeous and simple, and I LOVELOVELOVE that piece of artwork “let her sleep.” It seems like something that can grow with her as she gets older. And I love that you went with neutral tones with a few bright colors thrown in. :)

  26. oh man, LOVE it. i’m a huge fan of mix & match anthro knobs, and i’ve actually been eyeing the dresser for myself. i also have the same lights over my bed… and i’m 25 :)

not baby related, but how do you like those carpets in your house? we are buying a house and carpets need replacing, so i’ve been considering that type because they seem so fluffy, just didn’t know how practical.

    • well, kim, you have great taste :) haha. and we love our carpet! my dad owns a floor covering business and he suggested it. we get a lot of compliments on it. it’s very thick and comfy, and really doesn’t get matted down too bad.

  27. Love the room! On a random comment … what kind of camera do you use? I’m looking to buy a nice ($$$) camera and have no idea how/where to start. I think that would be a good blog post :)

  28. Love!!! Love the color choices and the style, I especially loved “Let her Sleep” which brought tears to my eyes. So special! God bless your princess!

  29. you don’t want to know this, but on your “let her sleep” board, the S is upside down.
i guess its a graphic design thing. :)

  30. Love love love the “let her sleep…” canvas. Wish you sold them…have you considered it???

    • Hi Sarah! Thanks so much for your comment, and your interest. I have considered it! However, I would have to charge about $200, and I have no idea if anyone would pay that much?! And shipping might be tricky, too? Would love to hear what you think.
