Dear Rooney :: 8 Months (From Daddy)

Daddy's girl,

What a crazy month we've had! Your mom already told you all the big changes that have gone on this past month, so I won't bore you with those details.

I do want to tell you how much stinking fun I'm having being your dad. I've delighted in teaching you new skills. This month we worked on gracefully sitting down after pulling yourself up. You pretty much mastered that in one day. I'm so impressed and proud of how big you are.

Sometimes I can't believe that we got so lucky in having you join our family. It's taken me eight months but I think I'm starting to figure you out. You. Are. Just. Like. Your. Mom! Which is actually helping me understand how to love you to the fullest.

Being loud, crazy, and making funny noises couldn't be any less entertaining for you. You can be so stingy with your smiles, but it makes them all the more sweet to see when they do come out to play.

And the giggles, couldn't be any cuter. The other night we shared what was my favorite five minutes of your entire life and luckily mom caught 40 seconds of it on video.

I'm trying hard to remember all the different stages of your life, but it's not easy as you out grow them so quickly.

I pray that you would always continue to challenge yourself to keep moving forward.
