February Checkup: 2011 Goals

It's been almost a month since I posted my goals for 2011. Because most resolutions are an afterthought by Valentine's Day, I wanted to check in to see how you're doing with your goals. I got an encouraging comment from a friend on the post and a few other comments from friends on Facebook and Twitter. Here is an update on my goals thus far:

Reading: 12 books in 2011 I've finished another book (two total so far). Kels and I bought the audiobook The Millionaire Next Door by Thomas Stanley and listened to it on our drive to and from her hometown on Feb. 4-5. I'm still working on finishing Canon Rebel T1i/500D: From Snapshots to Great Shots by Jeff Revell. I have a few chapters left and hope to finish the book within the week.

Get in shape/running: Lifetime goal The week I said I was going to the gym was a big test for me. The first time I ran on the treadmill, my left knee felt like someone drove a spike into it from the side. I continue to go to the gym, but have had to settle on riding bike, as the resistance on my knee during running isn't very pleasant. And after I run, I can hardly stand to walk up stairs the pain is so bad. (I should probably get that checked out.)

I have started lifting weights and biking three times a week and I feel better than I have in a long time. Kels even came to the gym with me yesterday!

Photography: ? I'm still working on this one. I have been taking photos daily. Kels keeps me pretty busy taking outfit photos every day for Snappy Casual (especially during the 30 for 30). I'm trying to commit to a 365-photo project, but I know that I won't have time to post every day. I think I might just do a recap once a week or something. Our friend Crystal did a photo shoot on Feb. 12 in downtown Des Moines and I tagged along to take some photos of Crystal taking photos, and some other scenery pictures. It was pretty fun. Here are a few:

I am still on track with my Bible readings, too. This I wouldn't consider a goal anymore because I have already achieved it and now is just a habit.

How are you doing with your 2011 goals?
