Thoughts From Inside a Minivan

Sometimes, after we get home from running errands or a busy day and we pull into our dark, warm garage, I just want to sit there for a while.

I don't want to go inside. I just want time to stop, and let me catch my breath.

I'll sit there for an hour if I can.

There's usually a snoring baby in the backseat with no guarantee that she'll stay that way as soon as I open her door.

Plus, I know that when I go inside, I will notice a million things that need to be done.

Receipts to log. Clutter to clear. Doctor bills to pay. Bottles to wash. Laundry to fold.

But there, inside the minivan, all is well...

And it's likely the only quiet time I'll get all day.

Just don't make me get out, yet.
