Over the Weekend: Aug. 12-14, 2011
We were inspired by the Rockstar Diaries this week. They posted a sweet video taken with an iPhone app called 8mm. Kels downloaded it and we shot some vintage video this weekend for a fun spin on Over the Weekend.
[A written recap]
Friday:
We headed to Lake Mills as it will be the last time we will see Kelsey's brother until Christmas. He is heading to Washington, D.C., to pursue his political interests. We are so excited and proud of him. This weekend we got to spend some quality time with the family before he leaves.
Once we arrived, we went out to eat at Turnberry's. This was the place Kels and I went on our first date.
After supper we went for a stroll around the block with Kelsey's dad, Myah and Maysen.
Then we enjoyed the beautiful evening weather and enjoyed some conversation outside. Mylie is acquiring so many skills. She is so attentive and able to grab things with her precious little fingers.
We then spent the rest of the night watching funny YouTube videos. I haven't belly-laughed that hard in a long time. Whew. I'm giggling just thinking about it.
Saturday:
We lounged, as we often due on Saturday mornings at Kelsey's parent's house. Aunt Kiki took some time to read to Myah and Maysen. They have so many questions that need answered.
Cole (Kelsey's brother) loves to golf, so naturally we had a tee time scheduled. Kelsey's mom rode along, and Myah and Maysen were caddies in training.
We then headed to The Other Place in Clear Lake for supper before heading for home.
Jane wanted a 'sip' of Coke. She doesn't drink pop too often, but then she fell off the wagon...we all got a good chuckle out of it.
On our way home, the moon was full and you could see all the detail in full. We pulled off the interstate to try to capture the moment, but it just didn't translate (or I just don't know how to photograph the moon). I can't even show you because the photos just didn't turn out like what we saw.
Sunday:
Sundays are usually our day of rest, which is why you have probably noticed that we don't do a whole lot. This Sunday was no different. I worked out and got groceries while Kelsey did some laundry.
Then we blogged for a while. Then church. Then we watched LOST!!
What did you do this weekend?
