Over the Weekend: Aug. 26-28, 2011
Friday
In case you missed it, Friday was date night!! Kels posted a few pictures of our date already, but here are some more photos from the evening.
Saturday
We haven't had a weekend without plans all summer, and Saturday really hit the spot. We slept in and then spent the rest of the morning working on our blogs, which was quite relaxing, actually.
Around noon we decided we should get groceries for the week. Kelsey was craving Caesar salad, which is odd because I'm pretty sure she has never had one before. Regardless, we were off to the store for our weekly grocery run and specifically for some Caesar salad. She was also under order of our midwife to get some different pre-natal vitamins. Kelsey has a hard time swallowing pills, so naturally she was ecstatic when they had chewable gummies!
The afternoon was spent apart. Kelsey was organizing her closet. We are heading to Minneapolis next weekend and she has been saving her personal money for some maternity shopping. So it was essential that she went through all of her clothes to determine her needs/wants list.
I spent the afternoon sifting through Photoshop tutorials online, trying to increase my arsenal of photo ninja tricks (not to be confused with ninja kicks).
We attended the 5 o'clock service at church and got to catch up with the Nichols family (great mentors of ours), who were kind enough to invite us over for pizza. We had a great evening catching up with them.
Sunday
I got up early to hit the gym. For the second weekend in a row, I rode my bike to the gym, lifted weights and rode home. I'm finally getting my bum in shape and am determined to not gain weight during Kelsey's pregnancy. At this point, our baby bumps are about the same size.
When I got home we laid around reading for a while, met with our realtor and then made breakfast for lunch. Always spectacular!
Then I was summoned to consult in the final round of closet cleaning. Here's my view.
After the closet was cleaned, we headed to Plato's Closet to sell some clothes and then to Target. Since we go to Target about four times a year, we had to check out the baby section. We did splurge on Starbucks drinks while shopping, but we left with the only thing on our shopping list: skirt hangers.
When we got back home, we found that our good friends Brenna and Justin had left Kels a nice surprise on the front doorstep. They know how to make a pregnant woman happy. Kels ate two of the ginormous pickles immediately. We were so sad to have missed our visitors. :(
The rest of the day was spent relaxing, reading and watching football.
Does anyone out there need a relaxing weekend like we had? It had been way too long for us.
