Over the Weekend: Sept. 30-Oct. 2, 2011
Friday
Kelsey celebrated her 28th birthday in style with her favorite ice cream dessert. It was the perfect afternoon snack for the office and I have made it the past three years for her birthday (recipe to come soon).
After work we headed north to Mason City to meet Kelsey's parents, sister and our nieces for supper at the best steakhouse ever. It's a rare occasion that we go there (about once a year), but we were celebrating Kelsey and Kari's birthdays. On our way, we stopped to take outfit photos for Kels and I snapped a few of the surrounding landscape. The sun was perfect.
Saturday
Kelsey's mom hosted a baby shower for our cousin Jessica and Rusty's new little guy, Sawyer. We took some newborn photos of him later in the afternoon (I'll write up a separate post for them later).
I also couldn't resist getting some shots of our twin nieces, Myah and Maysen, while they were playing outside.
Have I mentioned Kelsey has a huge family? It seems there is always something going on and Saturday evening was no exception. Another cousin, Abby, was in Minnesota State University, Mankato's production of RENT. So we headed further north in the evening for dinner and a show.
Sunday
We got up and headed for home. It was a fairly quiet day. I went to Lowe's to buy some pipe to make a pull-up bar for our basement. I started P90X last week and needed one to complete the workouts. I have never been this sore in my life!!!
We ended our weekend with church, supper at Qdoba (with a birthday coupon), getting groceries and relaxing.
How was your weekend?
