Rooney's Golden Birthday Party Invitations

In just five weeks, Rooney will celebrate her second trip around the sun! I realized last summer that this would be her golden birthday (she'll be turning 2 on the 2nd), so I've been gathering gold + glitter party ideas for quite some time now. For some reason, invitations are usually an afterthought for me because I'm typically so focused on what kind of cupcakes to serve. Last year I just sent an evite since I ran out of time, but this year I wanted to see what Minted's options were for kids' birthday party invitations. And I immediately fell in love with the sparkle confetti card.

It's no secret that we are huge fans of Minted. We've blogged about them here, here, here, here and here. One of my favorite things about Minted is that they will address your recipient addresses for you for FREE. I always do this for my Christmas cards since we mail 175 cards, but Rooney's birthday party will be a small family party, so I decided to hand-address the invites using a gold marker (I found mine at Hobby Lobby for $3.49, but you can get it on Amazon here) and experiment with typography.

I also love that there's a matching thank-you note! Too darn cute.
