What to Pack in a Sack Lunch / 01
I'm always looking for ideas on what to pack for lunch (we eat at work every day except Friday, when we enjoy a meal out with our friends). Here's what we normally rotate through:
Main dishes:
- Spaghettios with meatballs
- Lunchables (cold meat and crackers)
- Half of an English muffin with peanut butter
- Cold meat sandwich (Eric eats this almost every day)
- Macaroni and cheese cups (Kraft or Velveeta)
- Chicken noodle soup
- Tomato soup and crackers
- Peanut butter sandwich
- Salad
- Cereal
- Frozen waffles
- Scrambled eggs in a mug (actually, I have never brought this to work but I totally should!)
- Leftovers from the night before
Sides:
- Applesauce
- Pudding cup
- Fresh fruit: raspberries, strawberries, banana, apple, peach, nectarine
- Chips
- Cookies
- Cheddar popcorn
- String cheese
- Chips and sour cream dip
- Raisins
- Cheese and crackers
- Pretzel slims
We totally see the financial importance of packing a lunch, but we often get stuck in a rut, and sometimes I feel like a child eating this stuff in front of my boss (even though she claims it couldn't be cuter).
What are some of your favorites? I'm sure I will have lunch-envy when I read your comments while eating my macaroni and cheese cup.
